If you want to name her Anna, DO! If it's a name you really like, it doesn't matter even if you are naming her after someone. Most of my AGTs are named after someone. I'm going to have an Anastasia, named after Grand Duchess Anastasia Nicholaevna sometime, so I don't see anything wrong with naming a doll after someone, or even using a name you really like if it's not naming her after someone. I want AGT10 to be my mini-me, as she looks the most like me. If I ever get her, I'll be naming her Anne (which is my middle name), so I don't think naming a doll after yourself is too weird.
Also, I've used the Denise wig (although it was from a different site), on Misty, she's in my avatar. It's very nice and looks a lot like the original AGT wig, except with a bit more wave. However, it's nowhere near as thick as the AGT wigs. I'm nowhere near an expert, but I'd be more than happy to help if you do decide to rewig and need some help.
I can't wait until you post pictures, she's a gorgeous doll, and I bet yours is just lovely.

Oh, good!
Cami- I was wondering if she was a re-wigged doll. I've never seen an AG with such adorable "orange" hair, and she looks great! Good job.
So... her name is going to be Anistasia Ykaterina Meloticz... Americanized to Anna-Katherine, or just plain Anna.
Check out my album for her and Jess here:

I am so happy for you! I almost bid on that doll too, but now I am really glad that I didn't. She was truly meant to be yours and her name is perfect! ENJOY!

Oh, thank you so much, Mary Carly!!! I assure you that she has a good home here.
Cami- Thanks! I'm not quite sure how to describe her hair in comparison to Jess's. Basically, it seems like her hair is all pretty much an even shade of dark brown, while Jess's is predominantly black, but also has other colors mixed in- like it seems to have red-black hairs mixed in, sort of how black hair would look like with sunlight shining on it. So, it's like they're trying to make the hair look more natural, maybe.
And, yes, I do have Felicity. She's one of my favorite characters and is from one of my favorite time periods to study. I "rescued" her (and a Kirsten) off of ebay the summer after my freshman year of college when I was working doing costumed interpretation in Independence National Historic Park in Philly. We had a lot of kids come through who loved the show and wanted pictures with one of my friends who they thought looked like Sarah. Liberty's Kids is a wonderful show, too: where Felicity's stories tend to ignore more complicated issues like slavery in favor of keeping a less scattered focus, I really liked how the tv show format was able to allow Liberty's Kids to give multiple viewpoints on our fight for independence. That show also even included things that I as a history major wasn't even aware of!
Next, I want an Elizabeth to go with Felicity, even if the doll is blonde... but, considering my recent "doll binge," that's going to have to wait for a little while... I love designing outfits for the dolls- even if some of my earlier endeavors were pretty bad- and researching history, so Anna and her story will surely keep me busy for a while. Heh, I can already imagine making a family cookbook like the old AG Pasttimes books (the ones where each doll had her own)... only filled with Slavic food recipes!
I hope you all get the GT-10s you want - like all of American Girl's dolls, they really are adorable!

Thanks for sharing your album!
Ack, she's so pretty! You just made me want this doll even more, lol. Her hair is gorgeous. How do you think the color compares to Jess's? It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like Jess's might be a tad lighter, or maybe browner?
You have a Liberty's Kids picture on your wall! hehe! You need Felicity now, !

I am also a college collector. I didn't discover AG until 2001, and I graduated high school in 1994! I am now at my 3rd school after many interruptions over the years. So I am also a college collector and I think being older gives a different and better appreciation for the doll's stories and details of their craftmanship, collection and historical signifigance.
I have considered getting AGT 10. I have AGT 19 which is the closest doll to my own appearance and very similar to AGT 10 except for lighter hair. However, I want to make an Amelia doll from Amelia's Notebooks and AGT 10 has the right hair and eye color. I know she had a rag doll at one time but I'd like to make her part of my doll family.
I would have to cut the doll's hair short, and I'm not an experienced barber, so I couldn't spend the $ on such a doll and most likely ruin it. I have been looking for a similar, cheaper doll like the ones from Target. I'd love to find one with hair already cut short. She looks sort of like Lindsey, but her eyes are green not blue and her hair is very straight with bangs, kind of a bowl cut.

Sweet, another college collector!!!
I'm a Katie, too, actually... just a bit nomadic in my home at this point... mainly PA, sometimes southern CA, and previously southern NJ.
I loved Amelia! Making an AG doll version of her is a great idea! There was actually a GT10 on ebay last week with an unfortunate "shaggy bob" that could have been trimmed to look like her bowl-type cut... If you're close enough to Chicago, maybe you could take a doll to the AGP doll hair salon there to get a haircut if you're worried about cutting it yourself. (I don't know if they do haircuts or not) When you do get your Amelia, don't forget to share pictures!
